SHORT SYNOPSIS

Snowbird: Informal. a person who vacations in or moves to a warmer climate during cold weather. A practice popular among the elderly and retired generation.

JULIA, a 70 year-old widowed Brit, is less than enthusiastic when she wins a winter at the Snowbirds motorhome park in Arizona. Staid and impossibly British, Julia is a fish out of water in this bizarre community when she meets AL a loud and brash American smarting from a second divorce and experiencing a woefully late midlife crisis. Together they embark on a roadtrip of discovery and re-evaluate their lives and loves - realising that life truly begins at 70.

Snowbirds is a film about the pain of loving, the pathos in reversal of parenting that happens with old age, the freedom of travel and the hardship of letting go. The film carries a "live life to the fullest" message and explores themes of self-discovery, appreciation and love. It aims to reaffirm our emotions through its endearing poignancy whilst being simultaneously witty and unashamedly sentimental.
