THE RABBIT CATCHERS
SYNOPSIS
Alone and thousands of miles from her home in suburban Britain, 18 year-old Janine pieces together the scenes from the last eighteen months of her shattered life. Stranded beside a broken down hire car in Quebec, Canada, her head’s in bits as she struggles to comprehend the injuries inflicted by the ‘beautiful truck driver,’ Tom, the man she believes has stolen her baby.
THE RABBIT CATCHERS is a fragmented psychological thriller of damaged lives, obsessive love and the harm that some will do to get what they want. Told through Janine’s post-traumatic eyes, the story switches between the blank, suburban hinterlands of ‘New Britain’ (private estates, retail and enterprise parks and dual carriageways) and the snow-drenched sparseness of north-western Quebec where Janine searches for her missing child; the truth surrounding its abduction festering somewhere off screen.
