Ipso Facto Films develops, produces, co-produces and finances films that are quality productions with international potential.
Founded in 1993 by Christine Alderson, Ipso Facto Films has produced and/or co-produced over 10 feature films and over 50 short films and documentaries. The company has formed solid relationships with like-minded independent production companies over the years in the UK and beyond, having made films in partnership with France, Belgium, Germany, Holland, Ireland, Luxembourg, Portugal, Spain and Brazil.
Highlights include the European Film Award nominee IRINA PALM (dir. Sam Garbarski) starring Marianne Faithfull, SCHOOL FOR SEDUCTION (dir. Sue Heel) starring Kelly Brook and NASTY NEIGHBOURS (dir. Debbie Isitt) starring Ricky Tomlinson.
The company specialises in drama and looks for, exceptional stories told with a distinctive voice, vision, passion and hopefully humour.
Ipso Facto Films is committed to working with new talent. As such the company, with the support from NewcastleGateshead Initiative, and Northern Lights Film Festival, manage the Producer Training Initiative. This is an innovative pilot scheme that aims to equip selected trainees with the right skills and knowledge to produce high quality, commercially successful, low-budget feature films.
In 2007 Ipso Facto Films established MOXIE MAKERS a more genre led label in order to further its ambitions and to be at the forefront of developing new talent alongside cutting edge technology and distribution.
The company has offices in London and Newcastle.
